KAWAII KITSUNE // Copper Matte / Minimal Style - Unique Home - Japanese Decor - Raku - Fox Sculpture - Fox Art - Ceramic Animal - Wabi Sabi
This listing is for one Copper matte Raku Ceramic sculpture of a Cute Fox. I am inspired by the Kawaii culture of Cuteness in Japan. He has such an adorable expression. his eyes are squinting, and he looks like he in ancient and has been excavated from an archaeological dig. A show-stopper to say the least!!
The Copper Matte is a difficult Raku glaze to achieve and requires plenty of lucky from the kiln gods. It is of course Matte, and has a wide variety of colours and textures. It looks extremely ancient. You can see a rainbow of colours.
The glaze is basically 95% Copper Oxide, the last 3% a bit of Frit, and then some gum. You spread it on, very watery and thin. Fire it up to 950 C and then removed it from the kiln and gently place it on wood chips. Apparently you don't sprinkle any combustible on it, wait for the flames to flicker up, then cover it. The leave it for like, 35 min. and open it. I did not dunk it in water at all. Some say to dunk it and others say to sprinkle water on top.
Height: 14 cm
Width: 7 cm
Depth: 8 cm
